•Fully understand the architecture, capabilities, and limitations of both the national consumer (B2C) and commercial (B2B) databases. •Own pieces of the maintenance process within the two databases. •Coordinate data communications between various departments, including Marketing, IT, Operations, the Call Center, the NCSC portion of Marketing so that transfers/changes in data are understood/updated. •Collect and analyze data on customer segments, including demographics, preferences, needs, and buying habits to identify potential markets. •Perform gap analyses in current information so that primary research can be directed to fill those voids. •Keep abreast and be the ‘keeper’/developer of a compendium/library of competitive information that can be used throughout the organization in understanding landscape within each line of business market and defining market share. •Map data as needed so that data can be understood and fully utilized. •Calculate ROI on various marketing strategies and to inform key marketing staff of those returns. •Helps to launch and maintain new marketing programs with back-end analysis and testing for improved marketing campaigns. •Analysis of promotional activity – determine variables that effect performance and to suggest/recommend actions to maximize profitability and effectiveness. •Evaluates new technology and data application opportunities. Suggests improvement, where possible, with data accuracy and data integration. •Visually expresses data trends for internal and external stakeholders. •Designs report templates to assist end users in data-driven reporting. •Conducts/participates in meetings with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders to identify needs, share capabilities, best practices, and data findings based on results of analysis. •Guide marketing interns in using/understanding data correctly. •Performs other departmental duties as required.
-Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business, CRM and/or Database Management, Statistics, Mathematics or related field required, MBA is desirable. -5+ years in a database analyst role within a corporate marketing environment for a leading national consumer brand. -4+ years MapInfo or other mapping software experience. -4+ years in primary research. -2+ years creating and providing a B2B database. -4+ years cross-departmental team participation in a corporate marketing department. -Advanced Access skills (4+ years of heavy usage). -3+ years with SQL, SAP, Teradata, As400, and other enterprise/warehouse/relational/CRM programs. -Advanced Excel skills (3+ years of heavy usage). -3+ years’ Experience with SAS, SPSS, and other analytical/statistical modeling tools. -Highly developed project management skills. -2+ years of statistical modeling and multivariate testing background. -3+ years in Direct Mail/email/and customer call center campaign Management experience. -Detail-oriented team player with strong time management and organizational skills and with the ability to be resourceful, creative and flexible. -Must be a self-starter and be willing to take ownership of projects and follow-through from briefing, planning, production, management, reporting and results. -Candidate must possess analytical skills and have experience creatively solving complicated problems in a corporate environment. -Straight-forward communicator who is able to grasp and understand complex information/data and yet explain it in layman’s terms, with a focus on moving the organization forward.
Physical Demands/Work Environment This position is required to do light physical work. in order to successfully perform the essential functions of this position, the employee is regularly required to site for lengthy periods of time; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear. the employee is infrequently required to walk, stoop, kneel or crouch; but frequently required to reach with and use arms and hands, as required in using standard office equipment and a PC. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and ability to focus. the work environment for this position includes an office environment with a low noise level.
